Habitat 500

Now in its 20th year, the Habitat 500 is a bicycle ride and fundraiser that covers 500 miles over the course of 7 days.  Each rider raises funds from family, friends, businesses, and church groups and designates the Habitat for Humanity affiliates they wish to support (both locally and around the world).

Each year is a new route; we tour around the midwest visiting Habitat affiliates, Habitat worksites and Habitat homeowners along the way (in addition to roadside attractions).  Habitat affiliates serve as our local hosts for overnight stays.

A key component of the ride is to raise awareness about the need for decent, safe, affordable housing.  In this regard, we are in contact with all forms of media to generate coverage and we find the ride is a very attractive story for newspapers, radio, tv, cable, etc.  --  we bring a lot of excitement wherever we go.

This years ride will take place July 15-21

What We Do

Central Minnesota Habitat for Humanity (CMHFH) is a non-profit ecumenical Christian housing organization with the mission of gathering communities to transform lives through affordable homeownership. CMHFH works in partnership with low-income families and community volunteers to build and renovate houses, creating decent and affordable shelter. CMHFH serves Benton, Stearns, Sherburne and Wright Counties. Founded in 1989, CMHFH celebrates over 20 years of service to Central Minnesota

"We are so thankful to everyone, including volunteers, staff, Board of Directors and our friends and family that have helped us along the way. We also want to thank the good willed community members who have given of themselves to help make a home possible for our family.” -St. Cloud Habitat Homeowner

"Owning a Habitat home doesn’t just give my family four walls on a foundation to live in. It is a foundation for our entire lives—something upon which to build upon and grow from, to become all that we can be.” St. Cloud Habitat Home Owner
