Amina Omar and Mahad Elmi

“Everyone is SO happy and the kids asked when we can move!” was the response of Mahad Elmi and Amina Omar when they found out they were accepted as a Habitat Partner Family. The couple has lived in St. Cloud since 2008 and have eight children: Mohamed, SamSam, Abdiwali, Abdullahi, Abdiwahab, Hamza, Abubakar and Abdimajid.  Amina works at a Manufacturing Plant and as a translator and Mahad takes care of their children.

They look forward to someday sending their children to college and continuing to work hard together to make that possible. The family enjoys traveling to visit relatives  and being outside. The boys enjoy sports and aspire to be professional basketball, soccer and football players . SamSam wants to be a Medical Assistant.

Mahad, Amina and their children are anxious to purchase a home through Habitat for Humanity and have begun their Sweat Equity hours. They look forward to learning more about homeownership through Homeowner Education Classes and would like to say “Thank you!” to all of the volunteers who have made their experience possible.
